Where do I apply for them?

By November 2, 2020, the use of cashless payment system will no more be a choice but mandatory for all the drivers of Class 1, 2 and 3. It means there will no more be toll gates with CASH sign. Easytrip and Autosweep until recently allowed the drivers to purchase the sticker online and stick them by themselves. But, due to a number of wrong installation cases, they now require the drivers to bring their vehicles to the installation sites.

Here are the installation and reloading sites for both Easytrip and Autosweep:

Too busy and you forgot to register for your Easytrip or Autosweep or both? There will still be assistants working inside the toll booth. Don’t you worry too much in case you fail to install the RFIDs and have to use the expressways because Easytrip and Autosweep will expectedly still be providing installation services on the spot. So, how do you apply for it and what are the requirements?

How do I apply for them?

Latest Grand Starex

Easytrip

Individuals

Visit any of the installation sites provided above. Fill up the form. The form will ask you the following information: Full Name, Mobile Number, Plate Number (or Conduction Number), Vehicle Make and Model, Vehicle Color, Email Address. You don’t have to be the registered owner of the car to register an Easytrip account.

If you own multiple vehicles and don’t want to manage different accounts for each vehicle, you can consolidate all the accounts into one so you have only one account to manage. But, you will have to register each vehicle with separate account first and then request for account consolidation to the Easytrip office. You must write a request letter for account consolidation, sign, scan and send it to their email together with a valid ID. For specific instructions, call the customer service.

You are required to have initial load of Php 500.

Corporate

There are a minimum number of 10 vehicles required to register as one corporate account. To register as a corporate account, you will first have to call the main office and get specific instructions from them. There are limited installation sites and you will have to bring all the cars one by one for the installation to be done. If your corporate manages more than 10 vehicles and frequently use expressways, it would be much more convenient to apply for corporate account so that you have monitor and manage just single account for all the vehicles.

Autosweep

There are 2 different procedures depending on how many vehicles you are registering under your account. If it’s just one vehicle under one account, there isn’t much to do. If you have multiple vehicles to register under the same account, there are extra documents you have to prepare and the installation sites are limited. You can choose to register your vehicles one by one with different accounts, but that would mean you will have to manage several accounts individually. If you have one account for all the vehicles, it would be so much easier to manage.

Single Vehicle User

No documents are required.

All you have to do is fill up the form provided at the installation site. The following information need to be provided: Full Name, Mobile Number, Plate Number (or Conduction Number), Vehicle Make and Model, Vehicle Color, Email Address. It would be safe to bring a copy of your CR and just copy whatever is written there. There is no service fee and the RFID sticker is free. But, you have to load up your card. Initial load for Class 1 users is Php 200 while for Class 2 and 3 will be Php 1,000.

Multiple Vehicle User

Requirement:

  - O.R and C.R.
  - Valid ID
  - Deed of Sales or Authorization Letter
(if you are not the registered owner of the vehicle)
  - Photocopy of the owner’s ID with 3 signatures on one side
  - Subscription Form (you can download at www.autosweeprfid.com)

You will then have to go to the selected Autosweep RFID Customer Service Centers or Petro Kiosk for the registration. For more information, please contact Autosweep customer hotline: 02-5318-8655.

Can I just have one account for both Easytrip and Autosweep?

Simple answer is: No!

You can have one “sticker” but not one “account.”

Though there is this “inter-operability” concept between Easytrip and Autosweep, it’s not exactly like you can just one account and use it for both Easytrip-operated expressways and Autosweep-operated expressways. Here is how they mean by “inter-operability”:

You can register Autosweep account. Get the RFID sticker and install it on your vehicle. Then, bring it to the Easytrip installation site. Make Easytrip account, but you don’t have to get an RFID sticker because Easytrip will use Autosweep RFID sticker already installed on your vehicle. (Funny, you cannot do it vice-versa. If you have your Easytrip RFID sticker installed, bring it to the Autosweep installation site, Autosweep cannot use it so you will have to get Autosweep RFID sticker.) Even though there is one sticker, you still have to manage two different accounts, one for Autosweep and another for Easytrip.

Bottom line is what “inter-operability” provides is ONE LESS STICKER installed on your vehicle. Quite far from what the word is supposed to provide – convenience. You will have to go through the registration process for both Autosweep and Easytrip anyway. You will have to go through loading of the accounts at separate loading stations anyway. So, I would personally not bother to make use of this “inter-operability” system just because I get one less sticker.

What happens to my RFID if I sell my car?

Latest Grand Starex

If you are selling you car, you will need to file a deactivation form for your RFID. Just like registration, you will have to repeat the same process twice. Get your Easytrip and Autosweep RFID (not the account) deactivated. Call the customer service hotline of each service provider and ask for the requirements. Once completed, they will then deactivate the RFID. Now, you are free to remove the RFID from your vehicle. If you are purchasing another vehicle, go through the same process except that you can link your new RFID to your existing account.

Summary

RFID allows cashless payment service along expressways. Operated well without any functional errors, this will certainly reduce the number of hours wasted on the long “CASH” lines. To check again which of the two providers are operating which of the expressways in Luzon, check the map above or go back to the [What are the differences between Easytrip and Autosweep?].

By November 2, 2020, the expressways will go full cashless so you must register for the RFIDs. But, don’t worry too much because Easytrip and Autosweep installation will expectedly be available on the spot even after November 2nd.
